Y’all loved the Marianne Williamson quote in my last newsletter (it’s copied again at the bottom), and here’s another one I’ve got lots of feelings about.

“Humility is all well and good until it gets in the way of our generosity.

You are the Light of the world. Go forth, enjoy, and let your light shine.”

-Reverend LaShauna Austria

You are the light of the world?!

YES. Yes, you are.

And so are you ?. And so are you ?. And so are you ?! (me pointing at everyone Oprah-style ?).

One of several reasons people tell me they don’t want their outfit to make them stand out is what I said last time – you don’t want to outshine others and you don’t want to take up too much space.

News Flash: You can be wholly you, wearing what you want, and you’ll take up just the right amount of space.

Hiding on behalf of others is a humble tactic that absolutely serves no one. Your light is the essence of you. It illuminates your gifts. Your light is what can inspire us all.

Whether you’re a SAHM, an actor, doctor, chef, engineer, computer programmer, writer, plumber, loyal friend, or a proud grandma, the gift is you.

And when we show up dressed as bold, beautiful, authentic representations of ourselves, we are better equipped to embody our great roles and gifts.

“Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’

Actually, who are you not to be?”

-Marianne Williamson
