“Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’

Actually, who are you not to be?”

-Marianne Williamson

Here’s my best guess of why we’re afraid of our light.

Belonging.

People think it will separate them from others, illuminate differences, or outshine someone else. We’re afraid to receive unwanted attention (eff the creeps). Or that people will think our shine is annoying and egotistical.

Or worse, what if we’re wrong about our beauty or gifts?

Hot tip: IN NO POSSIBLE WAY CAN YOU BE WRONG ABOUT YOUR BEAUTY AND YOUR GIFTS, OK?!

As a woman who loooooooves to shine her light ?, the best outcome is that it ripples out giving permission to others to shine their unique, beautiful light too!

I actually believe you’re obligated to shine your light. You must use your gifts of time, talent, and treasure to illuminate the darkness in our world.

Picture the world lit up with little candles of beauty, talent, wisdom, and freedom of self-expression. How bright and beautiful the world would be!

So what exactly are you going to commit to be brilliant, gorgeous, beautiful, and fabulous this week?

As always let me know. Don’t know? Let’s talk about it.
