Listening to Glennon Doyle’s We Can Do Hard Things with Ashton Applewhite, I was struck by her comment about why the best is yet to come – “We grow more different from each other as we age.”
She was talking about our unique differences. Our shapes, lines and colors and what a gift it is to be so beautifully us.
Other things I think about as we age is that our values and viewpoints become clearer, we have more discernment, we know who and what we want to love and we become more sure about how we want to show up in this world.
When we know how we want to show up in the world, we both know this internally AND we can show them externally through what we are.
Age also gives us the freedom CARE LESS about what people think of us. Because of ageism this is challenging. But, what I hear often is that once we accept the aging process, we really let go of the need to prove ourselves and our worth in the world.
We are free.
What if you were free now? What would change? How would you dress from a place of freedom?
My advice – give it up now babe. It’s inevitable so can you just WEAR THE DAMN OUTFIT?? Today, please :).
