At least once a week people tell me their views and opinions on other people’s style choices.
Sometimes they are complementary and sometimes they’re critical. But no matter the angle, there’s always a subtle (or not-so-subtle) element of comparison.
- Could I wear that?
- Would I wear that?
- Am I going online to buy that outfit right now?
Comparisons are not always a bad thing. We use them to help us consider our likes and dislikes. We also use them to decide if we’re “better” or “worse” than someone.
It’s when I hear people decide they’re worse off than someone else that breaks my heart 💔. Because what’s really going on is that they haven’t yet found a personal style that looks and feels as good as they think the other person looks and feels.
But here’s what you need to know:
You’re not that far away from having a wardrobe that makes you feel comfortable and confident. One, because you now know me 😉. And two, the map to your style has already been drawn. And while my husband may be better at reading a location map, I’m an expert at reading the personality-meets-what-you-wear map 😘.
