While not universally exciting, laundry is my happy place 🧦🧺 (I guess I love clothes no matter what state they’re in 😉)!

Sorting, spraying, and watching things spin around give me pause to reflect on my day. And, sometimes something dawns on me between cycles.

I posted a reel about a conversation I had with my friend and her desire for a new “it” bag. I urged her to purchase anything other than what was trending because groupthink is not a vibe, right?

Then she started talking about how the bag would help her connect.hat go me thinking while I sorted socks…

Are trends a door to community?

And if they are, how can we join the trends while maintaining our individuality and our ability to think for ourselves – especially when it comes to buying & consuming?

By the time I got to the towels, I had decided that not all trends are bad.  Maybe, just maybe, we can follow a trend and make it our own without alienating the community that’s following it.

Just wanted to pop into your email and share my thoughts.  Now, I’m off to advise a client on how to add a scarf or cool charm to the trendy bag!

Because obviously we’re aligning her “sol” to her personal style 😘.

Is there a trend that has helped you be part of a community?  Do you have an experience like my friend at the pool?  I would love to hear it!  Share below in the comments.
