Summer is such a bittersweet season for a lot of people I work with. On the one hand, it’s full of joy – school’s out, the sun is shining, and vacations are calling. But with the sunshine often comes a little anxiety as the heat means lighter clothing, swimsuits and showing more skin.
And, that’s where our body confidence gets tested.
We live in a society that pressures us to, “have a summer body” as if there’s only one version of what that looks like. But, the truth is you don’t need to change your body to enjoy summer. You just need to wear what makes you feel good. And, that starts with body confidence.
I recently shared a reel with a swimsuit styles from different brands because yes, you can find a style that makes you look and feel good.
If you’ve been with me for awhile, you’ve heard me preach about not letting trends and other people’s opinions dictate your style. That’s extra important to remember as you start to show more skin.
If you’re looking for an extra confidence boost, I’m a big fan of mantras. A short phrase, repeated often, can slowly shift how you speak to yourself and that changes everything. Here are are few of my favorites:
💛 My body is a vessel of my awesomeness.
💛 I am grateful for my body and all that it does for me!
💛 I am enough just as I am.
Find one that speaks to you. Write it on a sticky note, keep it on your mirror and tell it to yourself daily. Let it guide your shopping and styling as the sun starts to shine more brightly on us.
