Twice this season I’ve made a last-minute decision to attend an event. Being a business owner and since becoming a mom, I often wait to decide.

The issue is, that doesn’t leave time for me to plan a good outfit, so I improvise with what I have.

Especially during the holidays, your time is precious and you have better things to do than worry about what to wear.

WHEN YOU HAVE TO MAKE A LAST-MINUTE OUTFIT DECISION, DO THIS:

  • Pull the nicest, simplest outfit you own. Black works, but so does any color. Remember, you don’t need to wear red, white & green at the holidays – you just need to be festive.
  • Decorate. Start adding A LOT of bling – your grandmother’s sparkly silver pin (or nine of them – which I did once 😂), a scarf tied in a bow or ascot-style, a single glove (I also did this recently because my kid took the other one 😅), perfume or cologne that makes you feel fancy, a clip-on earring at the vamp or tongue of your shoe, a pattern-mixing tie, or “too many” bracelets. Essentially, turn your average outfit into something you’ve not worn before.

Then, add your confidence, remembering that YOU are what shines the brightest!
