I want to start by continuing to express my love to those of us in Asheville and those of you who love someone here. This time is a total warp and what you wear might be the last thing on your list of cares.

That said, I want to share this anecdote from an Asheville-based client, demonstrating how what you wear in times like these matters more than you think.

My client & her spouse own a company that distributes their product nationwide. When the hurricane hit, they dove straight into service mode providing wellness checks for their staff, friends & family, as well as made multiple supply runs in and out of town.

Her goal in working with me has been to create a wardrobe that represents and embodies her role as a successful business owner.

Last week, I got a message from her sharing deep gratitude for our work together. She used the word “leader” when describing how she’s felt wearing clothes from her new wardrobe. She said that in the midst of the recovery & restoration of our community, she both looks and feels like a strong leader.

THIS IS IMPORTANT.

It’s important because she is a strong leader and her community and employees are looking to her for guidance during this impossibly difficult time. They not only feel her leadership, but they can see it too. And physically seeing her stand tall, dressed in a way that represents her role in their lives, has a greater impact than we might realize.

Before the hurricane hit, I created this Lookbook to make getting dressed for fall easy and enjoyable. Now might be the best time to find ease in what you wear, as well as consider how you want to show up as the confident leader in your own life.
