I’m excited for you to try this as a start to the new year!

Every year my husband and I do a big review and planning session on January 1st. There are no rules (just like in fashion 😉). We just let our thoughts flow without judgment (like your personal style 😉).

One of my favorite sayings is, “We look back, but we do not stare, because staring diminishes our usefulness to ourselves, and others.”

I want you to do something similar and reflect on last year, but through the lens of your wardrobe. Keep it quick and intentional to save time for creativity and inspiration.

YOUR HOW-TO:

Write 3-5 adjectives that describe the person you want to be in the new year—think of qualities like powerful, creative, and approachable.

Then remember the pieces you wore most often in 2024. What adjectives would you use to describe yourself when you wore those clothes?

Now look ahead. Do the items in your wardrobe, as a whole, reflect the style and energy you want to carry into the new year?

If not, I want you to envision the exact outfits you would wear to make you feel courageous, inspiring, or strong (insert your above adjectives here). If that feels hard to do, let me know.

In the coming year, I’ll be offering you more tools and guidance to:

  • Get clear about the person you want to be in the new year
  • Learn how to dress in alignment with that vision for yourself
  • Stay focused and accountable to your style goals

Happy New Year/New Style!
